Developed this Bejeweled style game for the Tales of the Road campaign which deals with child road safety.

I worked closely with a very talented team of designers, developers and producers at Tangent Plc who I collaborated with to put this rather large project together.

Purple Ronnie World is a place where you can design your own Ronnie avatar, dress them, shape them, name them and then build a scene to email onto your family and friends. The project was commissioned by PURPLE ENTERPRISES LIMITED as to inject new life into Purple Ronnie and bring it more of the success it enjoyed during the 90’s.

This was a pretty large project built with an AS3 & pureMVC front end and Django back end. I was the lead developer on the proect and was responsible for architecting  the application, developing the world and the avatars( dynamically customisable characters with xml driven IK animation system). I also put together various components for the scene builder and avatar builder, some of the more challenging were the Transform Manager and Layer/Layout Manager for the scene builder.

Users can add as many custom avatars as they like to their account, and can build as many scenes, which can then be sent, viewed and rated by friends or other users (however other users don’t yet have access to your scenes.)

We’re still ironing out some bugs, hense the beta badge, and coming in the next phase of the project are plans for a movie builder, a birthday cake maker, t-shirt designer and much more.

I was hired by Tangent Communications plc to architect and design a new site for Paco Rabanne. I led a team of developers and designers, and I was my job to cooridinate the the developement of the project, delegating work and providing support to the other team members. The site was built using a combination of PureMVC, XML, Bulkloader, SwfAddress and Papervision. Tangents client had some strong ideas during development, most of which were excellent, but on a few occations they couldn’t be swayed on some usability issues. So there are some ‘interesting’ nuances to the site, one of which is linking to old content held outside the site, however the biggest concession made was the lack of any real menu system. You have to navigate back to the landing page each time you want to load a new section. We did however sqeeze a sudo quick menu in place of the site structure, but I feel the site is still lacking something a little more intuative, guess you can’t win em all.

I worked at Steel London for several weeks developing a bunch of games for a kids site they are doing for the BBC. The games will be part of a larger site, click here to check it out. Alternatively click on the images below to play the games. There’s are no preloaders though, but they’re all pretty small in file size anyway.

I spent a few weeks with Carlson Marketing, where I did some AS2 work for them on several projects, one of which was Wayne Rooney - Street Striker. The site had been developed in AS2 and the game was developed in AS3, it was my responsibility to make the two parts work together. I used Grant Skinners excellent SWFBridge to make that happen.

I did some AS2 development for Ceros on several digital magazines including Liberty and Thomas Cook. I’ll post links when they’re released.

I developed The Ultimate Eggsplorer site for Lateral and the RSPCA. I was responsible for all development including front end flash, back end, layout, and both scripted and non scripted animation. The site consists of several games used to teach children about chicken welfare. Box2D was used for the physics on the egg sorting game and shopping basket game.

I was hired by Digital Outlook to localise the High School Musical site for it’s European release. We were provided a site built for the US release of the movie, however the content was static and never intended for multiple territories. I stripped out the site, making all appropriate content dynamic and loaded it in via xml.

AS3 Papervision site and game for Jumper film release.

I just finished this site for the release of the new movie Jumper staring Hayden Christensen. It’s build in AS3 and Papervision 2.0(Great White). I began with the Effects branch of Papervision, but couldn’t really get it to run fast enough for what I was doing. There are three games in all for this site, I did the design and programming for the entire site, and also for game 3. In my game you chase Jumpers around a 3D globe against the clock, building combos and scoring as many points as possible. I also built in functionality to open an account, and collect points throughout all three games. I also included some full screen HD video capability.
